There are voices which we hear in solitude, but they grow faint and inaudible as we enter the world.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

I need a day of quiet, solitude, sewing in my studio listening to the silence. Do you ever feel that way. So busy that you long for solitude? Yup that is me today. I’ve been on the run for a week and out of the house at every turn. ( Actually having way too much fun ) I had so much fun “lunching” with girlfriends laughing and catching up with old friends. But…this leads to NO SEWING….NO DESIGNING….YIKEESS. I’m not the kind of person that “does lunch”, but last week I was and now….I miss the solitude of my sewing room. I think this is basically the dilemma of a person who at the heart of it all HOME BODY.

On Thursday I went to the north Georgia mountains on a search for a retreat site for my Silver Thimble Club. I took Suzanne and Cathy along and we had fun exploring. I found an idyllic place for a sewing retreat. I’m working on the details and costs with more research to come. I’m hoping to make an announcement about this next Silver Thimble venture by the start of the Stitch In next Monday… stay tuned!! We would love to have you join us on Quilt Retreat in February.

While “lunching” in the Mountains we went to a famous barbecue place in Ellijay. They have a hill in the back of the restaurant with crosses marking the passing of the pigs that have given it up for the sake of the honored pork plate. I can’t decide if this is hilarious or creepy. The photo shows the hill (ok could be a better picture). Those little specks are crosses with each little piggy’s name. Then when on the porch in the rafters are pig cut outs with more piggy names. I’m sure my name is going to end up on one of those little piggy’s some day. OH MY!

The Stitch In begins one week from today and I have 3 weeks worth of work to do between now and then. We really “rock the house” during this week. I’ll be posting with photos from the scene of the crime oops EVENT. During the last Stitch In over 80 quilts were completed. Talk about eye candy!

I just re-read my post. I’M NEVER EATING BBQ AGAIN……I DO THINK THE GRAVE MARKERS ARE CREEPY.

Check out this great give away! I’m going to win.
