She is OUR GIRL!

As you all know I begin each post with a quote. This  is a copy of the Meditation which was read at Our Girl’s graduation. This version was found written on the walls of Mother Teresa’s Home for Children in Calcutta. It is called “Anyway” and it says it all… I hope this post is not too long …it is just about a mother and fathers pride…and one very special young lady.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.            If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.  Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.
OUR GIRL receiving her “pin” for her BSRN degree. She is being pinned by the Dean of Sumthin. I should remember  who, but I was trying not to cry.
And the treasured pin.

She is a quilt lover. This quilt was given to her after the pinning ceremony by her Godmother my dear friend Suzanne. Suz came with us to the graduation, she gave her the quilt when we all went back to the hotel. We gave her a stethoscope.
The next morning she received her dipolma. She is now a college graduate. The pride her father, and I feel knows NO BOUNDS.
And a wave to us as she walked off the stage.

With Dad holding his empty wallet. And yes we was wearing his Santa tie..
With Godmother Suzanne…soo happy!

With her sister…Both graduates now. Mission accomplished DAD!
TEAM MARY BETH with her best friends..Sorority sisters. I told these girls at lunch that I know they will be friends for life and that they should never let life get in the way of remaining close. I think they will. Oh, NONE of them have quilts. (I’m very concerned)

Saying good bye to her beloved Alpha Delta Pi, she lived in this beautiful Southern Mansion with about 20 zillion room mates (fabulous young women) for two years and loved every minute of it.

We took everyone out to lunch at a restaurant Mary Beth style good home cookin. We gave her my grandmothers pearls. She is now the fourth generation to wear this  family heirloom.
Okay..I know you want to see quilts…work with me here I’m having a moment.

Holey Fudge Pie…dang it was good.

There she is our graduate. Precious, so ready to take on the world! We love you Mary Beth beyond the moon and the stars. Remember the words of Mother Teresa!
