Let’s Stitch Along Together!

“To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection
of children,
to leave the world a better place,
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived,
this is to have succeeded” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have been wanting to host a Stitch Along for sometime now. My friends Kristie and Brenda thought this would be a bang up sooper dooper good idea. So, with their help I’m going to jump in there. (I love jumping).  What are we going to stitch? Let’s hear some drumrolls, footstomping, dancing in the streets.

SNOWBOUND!

                                                                       46″ x 46″
Yes my friends this quilt is so popular, that I could not resist. I will do some applique tutorials along the way as well! The majority of the quilt is applique so get ready. You can DO IT!

The Stitch Along will last 14 weeks with two week intervals in between each step so that you can bring this project easily to the finish line. I will have a link for you to post photos of your progress and show them to the group. I’m looking forward to that! Nothing better than a great show and tell, don’t you agree? We will begin the Stitch Along on February 1st and I will post tutorials and chat about each portion of the quilt on this blog on the 1st and 15th of the month.  Here are some options in planning your sewing materials if you are considering joining us.

Option 1: Get the pattern  (this is really not an option, but I did not need to tell you that did I?) Choose your own fabrics. This can be a great shopping experience or you can raid your stash. Whatever floats your boat my friends.

Option 2: You can purchase any of the kit options listed below
right here.

1.Background, borders and binding kit. You will choose your
own fabrics for the applique motifs.

2.Wool option, (this is amazing). Stitch your kit with Brenda’s
hand dyed wools. My heart is racing. This kit has every
applique motif  in the whole project in wool this option also
includes all the white wool for snow motifs(I’m going to get this
            kit!)

3.White wool kit. This kit supplies you with the white wool
for all snowy motifs…snowmen flakes and drifts!  You can mix
        this with cottons

Choose your own goodies or let us help you along. All that matters is that during the winter months ahead we will all be SNOWBOUND TOGETHER!!!!

    Oh.. what fun!~
Pat, I’m going to follow along and watch. I am SOOOO into your red and white quilt, Mary Elizabeth, that I can’t stop cutting and playing. I’ve been collecting red and white fabrics for a year now!~ SO, I’m going to keep sewing on that. I’ll be watching though!~~
Also, I’m not very good at applique.
And, it’s 80 degrees here and muggy. YUCK!!!~ So, I can’t get myself into snowmen. Hope you understand. But, I LOVE it!!~~

It would have been nice if you had directed your snowbound followers to purchase the pattern/fabric from the numerous quilt shop owners who purchased your pattern at quilt market. Just saying.
