Meet my friend and partner!

I have been planning this for sometime. Something that I just wanted to say. I want to tell you about a special person in my life. If she knew I was typing this right now she would tell me to stop. I wouldn’t and she would understand. Come on in to a part of my sewing room and I’ll tell  you about her.

Here is the part of the room where I sew. (I should have opened the shutters sorry). There is my new machine. It is wonderful but there is something else very special in this photo. See that angel? Look at her a little closer.

She designed and made her for me to use in our booth at market. I about fainted when she gave her to meShe went to Houston last fall and flew up over our booth and now she watches over me while I sew.

This is BJ at market in Salt Lake City. BJ is trustworthy, talented, terrific, unselfish and easy to be with. I love her dearly.

I promise that when I walk in the door of my sewing room and look across the room at this angel I am instantly filled with joy. Joy for the adorable gift that was made for me and the blessings of the friendship from the that created it.

How can you not smile when you have this hanging over your sewing space? She blows my skirt up all the time and makes me happy.I think she looks like me too..kinda chunky and happy she needs to step away from the cheetos.

BJ is my design partner in some special projects. She is an artist and one of the most talented people I know. The joy for me is watching her discovery of quilting. When BJ started quilting she found immediately the real meaning of being a quilter. She discovered that quilting takes you away to another place and brings you contentment and friendships you never knew exsisted. It is soo much more than crankin out a “blanket”

We laugh about designing and talk about being in fabric HELL as we try to choose the exact most perfect fabric for the carrot nose on a snowman (and we spend hours on little details like that) . As I write this blog post I know she is in her sewing room with fabric slung from one room to the other putting fabrics together on a new design we finalized this afternoon. Then she will understand if I call her and say STOP, I changed something” and with the patience of Job she will trudge over here and we will look at the design again! She gets me and I get her. It is just that simple.

She is my friend, once again here is the example of the magic of quilting and the blessings it brings us.I hope you have the same quilting friendships and blessings in your life my blogging friends! Come on over BJ and I will be here picking out fabric and whomping up some new designs, you are welcome to sit at that table.

All you have to do is look up and feel the love.
