A Visit and A Quilt

Stay is a charming word in a friends’s vocabulary. Louisa May Alcott

I have been lucky to host Kathy Brown here at my house while she has been in Atlanta doing a lectures and workshops for the Gwinnett and Etowah Valley guilds. We all enjoyed her visit and seeing what she has been up to recently. We talked and talked while I was stitching away on some new designs. Nothing better than girl talk while doing hand sewing! Homemade Sangria didn’t hurt either. I made a whole jug of Cherry Limeade and we never touched it. Guess what my family is having this weekend? EASTER Limeade!

Can you tell I’m looking forward to the family all getting together this weekend? My SIL is Greek so we are doing Easter Dinner at her house with lamb and Greek fixins. Boy Howdy do those Greek relatives know how to cook. I am in charge of appetizers. I soooo got this one! I can handle appetizers. yess sir I can.

I have been wanting to share a quilt that my friend Carol York from the East Cobb Quilters Guild made. This is our Yard Party quilt made with allllll wool. I love me some alllll wool yes I do.  She did a great job with her very own rendition. She added a ring of flowers in the center of the quilt which is just perfect and just Carol! I love it when quilters make the quilt “their own” by changing things up a bit. Her work is lovely so I thought this quilt might make you feel a bit “Springy”. What do  you think??? Can you feel the flowers blooming?

Happy Easter to all. I hope you get some big eggs in your Easter basket!
