Gratitude and Wonderfulness

Happiness cannot be traveled to,owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

When I think about all that quilting and becoming a quilt designer has brought into my life my immediate feeling is overwhelming gratitude. Living my life in a state of gratitude has informed everything I do. Sometimes days are difficult to find that grateful feeling and I have to dig harder, pray longer and just breathe. I have a dear friend (she knows who she is and will know when she reads this) who frequently will say to me “Pat, just breathe!” It helps to have someone to remind you to just breathe. Right? Why do I say this today? Well, because of my time away from my blog I have neglected to express my gratitude of  some quilting wonderfulness! This has been quite a quilty year! I am so happy to share.

First of all, I was honored to have a quilt in the 2014 American Patchwork and quilting calendar. The quilt is beautifully photographed and the other quilts in the calendar are keepers for sure.

Guess what? I have a quilt that is in the MARTINGALE 2015 CALENDAR. Holey smokes a calendar girl two years in a row. The quilt that is featured is my Road Trip quilt which is in Knockout Neutrals! I will be adding this calendar to my website if you would like a copy. Check back next week!

Better Calender 2015

I had known for a while that I would have a quilt in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. It was going to be in the 2014 December issue. Red and White just in time for Christmas.I was so thrilled and could not wait to get my hands on a copy of the magazine. Then came the biggest surprise of all. THE COVER! I don’t need to tell you how surprised, happy and GRATEFUL I was and still am! The cover is amazing…just sayin. Run and get a copy it is fantastic, Trust me this is the only way I will ever be a cover girl.

A completely fun and gratitude filled experience of 2014  has been this. Having the opportunity to be an Aurifil Designer of the Month was a blast. I have a long time addiction to Auriful threads. I was into Aurifil threads from the moment they hit the market. They had me at hello. I will always sew with Aurifil threads and my heart will smile when I think of 2014! Thanks for the honor Aurifil and a special thanks to my friend Miz Pat Sloan.

When it comes to gratitude I save the best for last. Hands down number one. Supercedes all else AND nothing to do with quilting. The gratitude that we all feel that these babies are here and thriving. 2.5 months early!
