Why not learn to enjoy the little things-there are so many of them -Anon

What a weekend! Teaching club program at the shop Friday night and Saturday! BIG FUN!! Loads of talk about the upcoming Stitch In which is in July. I can’t wait. This is a week of non stop sewing, laughing…and of course there is eating. I will talk more about it as the time gets closer. Everyone was enjoying the sewing and fellowship. I’m tellin you this club is the best! So much great fellowship and soooo many great show and tells! Wheww. I loved having some new quilters in class and helping them with their quilts. I sooo enjoy the teaching process I can’t even explain how much!

I have so much work to do today! I’m trying to get a design finished to submit to American Patchwork Magazine. I’m very excited about it and I am in the middle of redrafting a quilt that needs some work. Silver Thimble Quilt Co. keeps me very busy in the office as well. After having been off my feet for 6 weeks, I’m behind in my design/production work. I’ve been thinking about keeping my schedule and maintaining good organization. So I’ve decided that I will update my blog each Monday and Thursday. I’m hoping that will be enough to start. If I need to post more often I’ll add another day or two.

Here is another picture from the lecture last week. I know that I posted Strawberry Pie earlier but this picture shows how wonderful it is using different fabrics. I’m on a mission to get people to think about patterns like that. So often quilters like their quilts to look “just like the picture” . Come now lets all think outside the box!

I have a bloggy fun question? Do you sew with your shoes on or off? Do you sew with your whole foot on the foot pedal or just a toe??? Comments please??? tee hee

Shoes off-better foot control and I use my whole foot. My best sewing is done with few clothes on (heehee!!!!)

Shoes on…only ball of foot on pedal…good thing I don’t have my feet bound like Snow Flower and Lily. Guess all their sewing was by hand.

    SUE

Shoes on…after dropping a rotary cutter on top of my foot (back when I DID sew barefoot), and needing 12 stitches, I have since kept my shoes on when sewing. Besides I hate going barefoot. I only have the ball of my foot on the pedal, though.

I really fuss at people who sew without shoes!!! Too many diabetics with foot problems (especially friends of mine). So, I sew with shoes on. The whole foot on the foot control,I have a Bernina and I use my heel to raise and lower the needle.

shoes on – i used to be a shoes-off stitcher, but have switched to tennies…. but, only half of my foot – it’s really too long to use the entire thing!

Shoes off- I need to feel the pedal. I also can only sew with my right foot. Don’t know what I am going to do when I get my right knee replaced and have restricted movement

I sew with shoes on. I find pins all over the floor. Woud hate to step on one. I use just the ball of my foot.

Love your quotes! At one time I collected them. I think the file is living in the file cabinet in our basement.

Love seeing a picture of Wuthering Heights “Strawberry Pie.” Love that fabric line:)

Waving hi from Whidbey Island, WA!!!! Shoes off and no socks either if I can help it (I’m a barefoot kinda girl). Also just toes or the ball of my foot.
PS: send my sewing stuff and cats, I’m not coming back LOL!

I sew barefoot with the left side of my right foot…mostly the big toe!

Shoes off – definitely. Half of my foot on the pedal sideways (crazy I know but works for me!)

I sew in my slippers LOL just the ball of my foot on the foot control. Fun quiz.
