Ellijay #2, Photos and Fun

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing. – Thomas Jefferson

With all due respects to Thomas Jefferson from the above quote, he mentions nothing about fatigue! I guess fatigue wasn’t an issue because he probably practiced the early to bed early to rise philosophy of his friend B. Franklin right??? I will be in bed early one of these nights.

I never completed the Ellijay photos. So here are some cool quilts and people. Come to Ellijay next year there will be two weekends of retreats. Look for those announcements in the Spring, which according to the daffodils which are blooming right now spring is going to begin any day now. What a weird winter!.

Kim and her wall hanging. She looks happy!
This is the look Karin gave me when I suggested some applique on a quilt she was working on. Good thing she didn’t speak I don’t even want to thing about the words that might have come out of her mouth! The look says it all! (remember Karin? she is the one who invented Staplique and set quilting back 100 years)

Jane with her cupcakes. Some little someone is going to love it!
This is Quarter Square Triangle love. Proof that the Tucker Trimmer is at work! Whatta ruler.

At the end of retreat one of the last things we do is play Left, Right Center for nine patch blocks. The winner of last years game is requested to make a quilt from the winning blocks. This is Marti and one of the two quilts she made from the winning blocks. NICE HUH?
Leisa believes in carrying all her supplies to the ironing board. Check out the Best Press bottle!

Marti’s second quilt from the winning blocks!
And the finial game!

Apparently Jane is close to winning.
But then there is the final winner…Elaine. Every year there is one photo that says it all about the retreat. This one is IT…pure JOY!
Gotta go Thimbles today and tomorrow! I’m taking a sweet treat for the gang to celebrate our new digs!

We have a small retreat group and played LRC for fat quarters and had a lot of fun. You really can’t tell who the winner is going to be until it’s over! LOVE it and thank YOU for telling me about this game.
